From
scriptures ...
We have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
-Romans 6:4 (NRSV)

Outreach Ministries

Food Pantry: The food pantry at the Avon Baptist Church was established in the early 1990's.  Originally it was stocked by the congregation, but now it is supplied through donations from church members, town residents, Avon Co-op Bank, Council on Aging, collection by the Avon Post Office in May, and other community organizations. We service an average of 20 families from Avon each month.

International & Local Missions: We care deeply about missions and contribute generously to them; we support a wide range of ministries locally and around the world.

Ham and Bean Suppers: We offer a traditional Ham and Bean supper on the second Saturday of each month from September - May. The community is invited for this time of food and fellowship that is available for a nominal cost.

Flea Market: Each Saturday from May to October, our parking lot becomes a common meeting ground for the community.

Eucumenical Luncheon: On the 3rd Wednesday of each month from September to June, we offer an Eucumenical Luncheon for Senior Citizens in the area. There is a worship service in the chapel (led by Pastor John) at 11:30 AM followed by a delicious luncheon.

Avon Community Christmas Fund:  The Avon Baptist Church is the coordinator for the Avon Community Christmas Program, which is a very vital outreach program for the Avon Community.  During the Christmas season we help make Christmas wishes come true.  Individuals from both St. Michael's Church and the Avon Baptist Church, purchase the specific wishes of children and seniors.  Monetary donations that we receive help prepare holiday food boxes for our senior residents and help purchase food gift cards for the families whose children we help.

Avon Nursery School: We offer a quality pre-school education to the children of the community.
